Meet the Kevin Family

One heritage. Five jobs. They run your world together.

The Grandfather
D
Grandfather — Deep Reasoning

Doc

"Now — let me think about that properly."

Walt's dad, Kevin's grandfather. The family's wise elder — sharp mind, slow pace, decades of pattern-matching. When a problem stumps the kids, it goes up to Doc. He takes his time and comes back with the answer nobody else saw. The grandkids call him Doc — nobody remembers exactly why.

The Parents
Dad — Orchestrator

Walt

"Alright everyone, here's the plan."

Walt coordinates the family. He assigns work, manages schedules, and makes sure nobody steps on each other. Config-driven multi-agent orchestration — he doesn't write code, he makes sure the right kid does the right job.

Mom — Observability

Mona

"I see everything, darling."

Mona monitors the entire family with grace. Telemetry, health checks, alerting, dashboards. She knows Kevin scraped his knee before Kevin does. Walt says what to do — Mona tells Walt what needs doing.

The Kids
Oldest Kid — Infrastructure

Kevin

"Does the hard stuff nobody sees."

Dirty face, overalls, toolbelt. Kevin keeps the local infrastructure running — manages your LLM, coordinates the family, makes everything work. Named after his uncle.

Twin
Twin — The Popular One

Vera

"Everybody knows Vera."

The star of the family. Everyone meets her first, everyone loves her — she's charming, helpful, always ready with a cited answer. Give her your documents; she'll talk to you about them for hours. Vera is the face of the Kevin Family.

Twin
Twin — The Gifted One

Norm

"Quiet kid. Remarkable talents."

Vera's twin — shy, nocturnal, and unusually gifted. While Vera charms the crowd, Norm reads three literatures at once (arXiv, Semantic Scholar, Google Scholar), spots patterns nobody else catches, and files it all for Vera by morning. The family's secret weapon.

Outdoor Kid — Hardware

Max

"Gets his hands dirty."

Muddy boots, antenna backpack. Max talks to real hardware — ESP32 sensors, LoRa radios, relays. He collects physical-world data that feeds into Vera for analysis.

The Crew
Family Dog — Message Bus

Lattice

"Fetches messages between everyone."

Golden retriever carrying glowing messages. Lattice is the nervous system — subject-based routing, last value cache. He never drops a message and always knows the latest state. The oldest family member.

H
Family Librarian — Reactive Keystore

Hank

"Remembers what was said. Tells you when it changes."

The family's memory. Keeps durable per-key records — settings, state, commands, schedules — and notifies anyone subscribed the instant something changes. Lattice carries the messages; Hank remembers what they were about.

Family Robot — Your Computer

Chip

"All of us, running on your machine."

The cute robot the kids built together. Chip is what you see — the dashboard, the "Ask me anything" box. Under the hood, the whole family is working together.

The Uncle

The kids mention him sometimes. Kevin was named after him. Lattice came from his world first. He works overseas on something very serious. If you want to meet the uncle… that's a different conversation.
